The Virginia Chapter of the national Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) has existed since October of 1983, when it was started as the Virginia Society for Healthcare Purchasing and Materials Management (VSHPMM). The name was changed in 1999 to better reflect VAHRMM’s purpose and the services that your association provides. VAHRMM serves as an organization for the professional development and advancement of purchasing agents, materials managers and other related healthcare supply chain personnel. This is facilitated by an extremely active Board of Directors consisting of a combination of hospital and supplier members to meet the needs of our diverse membership. She is responsible for the VCU Medical Center, the Children’s Hospital of Richmond and the VCU Health Adult Outpatient Pavilion in downtown Richmond. She also has the VCU Health Supply Chain Distribution Center and 120+ team members. Andria has over 10 years health care supply chain experience and more than 15 total years in supply chain/project management experience. She served on the AHRMM Board from 2017-2020 and has been a board member of VAHRMM since January 2023. X Past President Cathy Gray Cathy Gray has worked in healthcare for over 30 years. Much of that time has been as a Registered Nurse. Her experience spans both outpatient and inpatient care areas. Her experience includes Critical Care, Inpatient Surgical unit, Medical Surgical, and Oncology. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Healthcare Administration. Cathy found her way to Supply Chain about 8 years ago where she works as the Value Analysis Manager for Sentara’s Supply Chain. Cathy has been a member of VAHRMM for 7 years and has served as past secretary. X Treasurer Thomas McVey Thomas McVey serves as the Director of Operations and Logistics for Supply Chain Management at Riverside Health system. With oversight of Biomed, Distribution/Materials Services, Courier Services and Linen, Thomas has spent the last 30 years driving greater supply chain automation and visibility utilizing leading edge technologies. Starting with the Marine Corps to companies such as Intel and Cisco Systems, he is currently with Riverside Health System streamlining their supply chain operations through various process Improvement and quality management initiatives. As the VAHRMM Treasurer he happily engages in cost saving initiatives. X Secretary Chris Lawson Chris Lawson is currently the System Director of Procurement for Advantus Health Partners, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bon Secours Mercy Health. He is responsible for more than $2B in supply and capital purchases per year that covers the procurement activity of more than 40 hospitals. He has more than 17 years’ experience in hospital supply chain and has held positions as an Acute Care Supply Chain Director, Director of Warehouse Operations, Administrative Director of MMIS systems and ERP System Administration. Kit is a CMRP, sits on the national AHRMM Chapter Relations Committee, and has been part of the VAHRMM Board for over 10 years. X Education Chair Vicky Lyle Vicky Lyle is the Vice President of Industry Relations at Owens & Minor, where she leads the Company’s involvement with industry and trade organizations worldwide. She currently serves on the executive board for Professional Women in Healthcare (PWH) and on the board of Healthcare Supplier Diversity Alliance (HSDA) and serves on the Council of Supplier Diversity for Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA). She also serves as a member of the AHRMM Steering Committee for the Learning UDI community. Vicky has been with Owens & Minor for more than 35 years, contributing business and technical expertise across all facets of the supply chain. She has served on the board of VAHRMM since August 2022. X Associate Board Member Matt Bercot Matthew A. Bercot is a senior supply chain and distribution executive with more than two decades of leadership experience overseeing large-scale logistics, distribution, and operational networks in highly regulated and mission-critical environments. He currently serves as Distribution Manager for Riverside Health, where he provides enterprise leadership over end-to-end distribution operations supporting multiple acute care hospitals and healthcare facilities across the Hampton Roads region. Prior to Riverside Health, Matthew served as Senior Procurement Manager at Tabet Manufacturing, where he led a $15 million annual spend portfolio and executed strategic sourcing initiatives that delivered significant cost reductions and measurable supplier performance improvements. His work consistently aligned procurement strategy with operational efficiency and financial objectives, driving sustained enterprise value. Matthew’s leadership foundation was built during a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Navy, where he directed global logistics and supply chain operations supporting more than 1,000 personnel. In this role, he managed high-value inventory portfolios, led large cross-functional teams, implemented quality assurance and compliance programs, and ensured operational readiness in high-risk, high-accountability environments. This experience shaped his disciplined, metrics-driven leadership approach and deep expertise across transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and process governance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Logistics and Transportation Management, earned Summa Cum Laude, and has completed his Master of Business Administration. Matthew is a Certified Healthcare Operations Professional (CHOP-B) and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, with extensive experience leveraging enterprise systems including SAP, WMS, TMS, and ERP platforms to enhance performance and decision-making. Matthew brings a strategic, enterprise-level perspective to supply chain leadership, combining strong financial acumen with a collaborative, execution-focused leadership style. He is recognized for scaling complex operations, improving service and cost performance, and building resilient, high-performing distribution networks that support organizational growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys staying active, spending time with family, and pursuing continuous personal and professional development. X Associate Board Member Amy Askew Amy Askew is the Regional Sales Manager for Solventum, overseeing the vascular, sterilization, and peri-operative portfolios across the Atlantic Region. With 15 years of experience at Solventum (formerly 3M), Amy has held a variety of roles including Dental Practice Specialist, Central Sterilization Account Manager, and Acute Patient Care Account Manager, before stepping into her current leadership position. Amy has been actively involved with VAHRMM since 2018 and has served on its Board of Directors since 2021, contributing her expertise to advance healthcare supply chain excellence. X Board Member Keith Dabbs Keith Dabbs is currently the Director of Supply Chain Management at Chesapeake Regional Health in Chesapeake, Virginia. Keith has over 30 years of healthcare supply chain experience, with over 20 years being in leadership positions and in consulting. His experience has ranged from hospitals in Southwest and Hampton Roads Virginia, Texas, West Virginia and Australia. Keith was a VAHRMM Board Member for many years and has returned in 2024. X Board Member Matt Nelson Matt Nelson is an Account Manager with Stryker, a leading medical device manufacturer. Matt has over 20 years of experience driving positive change / clinical outcomes in healthcare. Matt has been with Stryker since 2012, and has experience in the pharmaceutical, and industrial market space as well. Matt has been a part of VAHRMM since 2013 and has been a board member since 2024. X Board Member Samantha Damon Samantha Damon is an Executive Specialist in the Virginia market with the Surgical Solutions division at Medtronic. Samantha has been with Medtronic for 15 years, supporting the operating room and hospitals in the Virginia and Mid-Atlantic Region. Samantha joined the board in 2025.
