The Virginia Chapter of the national Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) has existed since October of 1983, when it was started as the Virginia Society for Healthcare Purchasing and Materials Management (VSHPMM). The name was changed in 1999 to better reflect VAHRMM’s purpose and the services that your association provides.
VAHRMM serves as an organization for the professional development and advancement of purchasing agents, materials managers and other related healthcare supply chain personnel. This is facilitated by an extremely active Board of Directors consisting of a combination of hospital and supplier members to meet the needs of our diverse membership.
VAHRMM provides our membership with a 2 day in person conference in October each year. This conference brings together the VAHRMM membership and our suppliers for educational opportunities, networking events and a Vendor Fair that allows the members to speak with our supplier colleagues about new products and introductions into new business opportunities.
This event is FUN! We begin our conferences with a Keynote speaker that is both informative and entertaining. We then dive into subjects and bring in speakers on topics that are crucial to the Healthcare Supply Chain professional. We have opportunities to learn about the Certified Materials & Resource Professional certification program and the curernt State of the Commonwealth with new laws and regulations that effect the hospital systems in Virginia. We also host a large dinner and entertainment opportunity for all participating attendees.
This is a great opportunity for Healthcare professionals from around Virginia to celebrate themselves and the work they do to support our patient populations.
